ICC Profiles for Lab Printers (Walmart, Costco, etc.)

After sending one digital file to Wolf Photo online and getting two differently shaded B&W prints from one file printed at the same time, I was totally frustrated. I happened to be researching icc profiles online and came across this website:

http://www.drycreekphoto.com/Frontie...erDatabase.htm

They provide icc profiles for different labs in your area and they also say what paper they print on. They provide a profile for matte and glossy if available.

I haven't tried this out yet but it seems that it should be very helpful. Let me know if any of you have tried it.

Good Luck!
Karen

Sure appreciate you sharing this, Karen, and letting us learn from your pain and frustration. A terrific find and suggestion.

HELP: Would verify the URL you provided. I'm getting a "not found" message. If you do need to fix it, click the Edit button on your original message and you'll be able to fix it from there.

I "do" want to read more about this.

Thx/Danny

icc profiles from chain stores

Hi!

What I do is use a gretagmacbeth eye-one display monitor profiler...this gives corrected colors first...then use adobe RGB 1998....Relative colorimetic as the rendering....I go and print them at walmart and the pictures come very very close to what my monitor displays. (color as well as density etc)
I am going to look at your suggested site and see if they work better

thanks
