NOT a replacement for professional council
| ||Thread Tools|
Tomorrow I have a meeting with a client who sells photographs to hotels, restaurants, etc. He would like me to, in Painter, be able to, not only turn the photos into art, but be able to respond to his specific client's request. For Example, He might have a photo of a nature scene and the hotel might want 1000 images but done in a chalk drawing style. He has the copyright on these photos.
1: Can I copyright this new image?
2: How should I price this project? Should it be for a one-time fee or based on the amount of pieces sold?
3: Anything else I haven't thought of?
Re: distribution issue
1: No, see derivative works clause in copyright law
2: Per piece created, ask for a royalty for each piece sold
3: Get everything in writing, leave nothing to chance..consult a lawyer, nail out a contract.
