Where to get portraits for portfolio?

Hallo everyone,
Maybe you have some suggestions?

I need a couple of raw image sportraits.
I was searching through stock ptoto agencies, but in fact they do not have original with lower quality (before)
Do not know the other places where to look for it and have the right to show on own website as a portfolio.

Any suggestions are very appreciated!

Thank you!

Aus

You could always build a softbox and take your own (don't forget to use a model release).

I thought there might be an easier way to get couple of raw pictures...
I do not know any person, who would like to sit on the webpage
And im not a photographer. Im editor.
Maybe someone would like to sell some pictures with model release?

Find a portrait studio, tell them what you want, write the check, go home and retouch away!

Re: Where to get portraits for portfolio?

The only one questionable is Lipstickfetish... I would ping The Forum first.. just to check their policies and also ask the Original Poster (OP) of the Pics... (as someone has recently done and has asked the same basic question toward the bottom of the thread..)

Re: Where to get portraits for portfolio?

Yes i will, i like lipstick forum as a source.
Great quality photos to work on IMHO
(would be nice to see more wrinkles and spots on a womans faces on a photos
instead of slice of mask cosmetic though, lol )

Thanks once more 0lBaldy!

Re: Where to get portraits for portfolio?

Im at the same time searching through sotck photo agencies...
So hard to find them there...

At last found one portrait with wrinkles, but have no idea how to find face with red spots etc.

Any suggestion for keywords to search on in stock agencies?

Also old BW photos keywords?
Tried to search using simple keywords such as 'old photo', 'scratch' etc. - nothing

Any suggestions for a keywords, please please

Re: Where to get portraits for portfolio?

I have found many old black and white photos in antique stores. Usually the ones in the bad condition are in a box in the back room, and they are cheap since there is virtually no market for them.

Re: Where to get portraits for portfolio?

Thanks Mike and Palms1 for help and suggestions,
Mike, I think im getting closer by searching for old photos with keyword 'antique' in stock photo agencies.... sadly most of them are already retouched i think (at least the main part), i keep onsearching there...

Re: Where to get portraits for portfolio?

The Library of Congress >> Prints & Photographs Division >> Prints & Photographs Online Catalog.
I searched with: head-and-shoulders (with - dashes -)

I got 8224 records... clicked Purple button that says "Preview Images" ... went thru the pages

Use your own search words for access to about a million digitized photos

Re: Where to get portraits for portfolio?

Hi Aus,

You are welcome to take a look at my Flickr storage page. If you see any images there that you would like to use let me know. I don't mind you using them as long as they are for your portfolio and/or you give me credit when needed.
