Or for these nasty little conversions that non of us have take a look at XnView a free converter that has been a life saver for me.

Good luck

Jan, thanks for the hint, but have you ever tried downloading with a 64k ISDN line?

xnview can't convert it either

Isn't there anybody around with Illustrator or Corel Draw?

Hi Patrick B,

I am told that Irfan View can open it and apparently can open many other applications .

If you still have problems I can try to borrow my daughters's Corel and see if I can help.

Let me know how you managed.

Regards - Martha

P.S.: If you do not find the CDR extension as one of the supported programs do not worry. My daughter dwld it at a cyber while downtown and could edit a CDR file she needed urgently. So at least she assured me.

I tried some of your suggestions but unfortunately none of them worked

The 30-day trial doesn't include the font used by the designer and irfanview can indeed open them, but only as thumbnails with a resolution beyond belief...

So I guess I desperately need someone with Corel to convert them?

OK then Patrick B, send me the file and will see if I can open it and convert it to EPS. Please I have not done this conversion before, so make sure to let me know of any special configuration or specifications I should take into account for the conversion (if any).

Those files tend to be quite big so perhaps you better upload it to photobucket or imageshack and pm the link. ?

Regards - Martha

Hi Patrick

Why don't you ask the customer to do the conversions himself (assuming that he's got CorelDraw on his end). All he has to do is open the file in Corel and then export, there is a drop-down menu called "Files of Type" that is on the Export dialogue box,all he has to do is scroll down, find EPS and hit Export.

Hope this helps.

Re: Can somebody convert cdr to eps?

The fonts don't "come from" Corel Draw. They come from what ever was loaded on your client's hard drive. They need to be converted to outlines before creating either the Corel file or exported from Corel as EPS. Your client could have used some funky font from the internet that you don't have.
