background help

i have searched far and wide (at least i think so) for sites where i can download backgrounds . i have started making fantasy photos for my kids and i have found dreamstime, istockphoto,big stock photo, and fotolia and wondering if anyone can tell me what else it out there.
i am hoping to start up and making these for little pageant kids that my daughter and i know and parents who want this type of photos, but stuck as where i can hit the "jackpot" of themed backgrounds.

to give you an idea of what i am looking for.the site makes them a bit blurry/fuzzy but they are all 100% clear on photo paper.
i just started doing this about 3 weeks ago and know it is pretty basic stuff and i need quite a bit more training, but would like to try and get a little more experience and have some additional resources under my belt before possibly offering these outside of my family.

any help would be greatly appreciated

the links given are great and much appreciated- but just not what i am looking for in what i am trying to do. looking to see if there are any sort of theme backgrounds out there on sites that i am just missing or is it just everyone creates their own by piecemealing things together??

Hi,
Don't know if I can be of any help. First I am not really sure what kind of themes your looking for and there a ton of different kinds of background themes.. ie western, scifi, medevil, impressionist, fantasy, etc..!!

I find I can never really find one single site that covers all I am interested in... and what I do i use a image search engine (altavista's, yahoo, aol, google, etc) that avail at those sites and search for the themes i am interested... what nice is you get thumbnail previews of the results... saves a lot of time!!

not only will see a large variety of what avail but if you get lucky may find a site that does have alot of things you might use....

and the search words becomes very important to narrow your search down.. for example fantasy art... wide selection but narrowingit down to fantasy landscape or fantasy paintings, or using word combinations with surreal, or forrest or flowers, etc etc etc....

of course on all this searching and using graphics be aware of copyrights... a lot of them it ok for personal use but there are site that you need to ask permission..

thanks for your help as well- i was searching for stock photography and wondering why i was not getting too far-your post made me realize i need to narrow it down more to find more avenues. i try to stay with sites that you pay for the downloads- gives me a choice of sizes i want and able to reprint them at will.

I do that sort of thing on my site. Every background is a composite of several photos. I also sell the files on Ebay. I have been thinking of adding more, but just haven't had the time. Take a look and maybe you can get some ideas.
