| Framing Hello all, I am new to framing and was wondering if there are any creative minds or more experienced minds out there on this subject.
I have a fairly large painting...if I remember the size was approx 27" high x 54" wide. It's a very precious painting that I acquired from the northern half the of the Korean peninsula, and, therefore, it is not replaceable. I've taken it to a few places to get it framed and they gave me ridiculous prices and some even refused to do the job because they did not want to be held responsible. I got an amazing deal on the painting and the prices such as aaron bros. gave me for a frame job was literally 20x more than what I had paid for the painting.
It is a very fragile rice paper type material. Would anyone know how I might approach this job myself or even a harmless but creative way of putting this up w/out damaging it?
I've attached an image of the painting..it is about 1/2 the size. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Best Regards, |
