7 Point System for Photoshop

I got this book by Scott Kelby and seems like it has great ideas for landscape photography. But what about those of us who take normal pictures with people in them. What are some of the common steps that can be used to fix group photos? Let's assume that the picture looks pretty good already but you just want to enhance it. What steps would you take photo from good to really making it POP! Thanks for the suggestions!
