Photo-Art 101 - - Oil Painting...

I'm trying to make this sweet picture of my son into a sepia but tinted oil painting (to minimize the saturated red stool and take the focus from that to his face). I think I'm close, but I can't get his face to look right... I like the way the clothes and stool look though.

i'd suggest before you do the 'oil' effect that you mask the baby's face at about 50%. that would leave a bit more detail but give some oil effect.

It actually IS masked... but I still have lost so much sharpness. Maybe I have the opacity too low? It's currently set to 40%

could be. try 60% or more.
