What Corel Painter training should I get?

This stuff is addictive. To the point I've pre ordered academic CS3 and got academic
Painter X. Your site and NAPP are proving to be a godsend. Local camera club isn't that much help.
NAPP has Fay Sirkis' new DVD "How to Paint Like a Master" on pre-order.
Would this be a wise purchase for some without artistic ability?

Re: newbe back again

Identify the type of photo-to-painting transformations you intend to primarily do...
* People/portraits
* Scenery, flowers (detailed)
* Abstract, "out there" - type projects
* ...or what?

Reason I ask: Understanding your intent will help others point you in the right direction.

I think everyone has artistic ability, you just have to try.

Re: What Corel Painter training should I get?

everyone does not have artistic ability, there are right brain people and left brain people, it's genetic like Shaq is tall and other people are shorter.
that being said, I have no creativity at all and that is where I need your help.
please forgive my tyrade.

My main interest is landscape. Thanks for your input.

Hi Chauncy

Check out Painter IX for Photographers by Martin Addison

Painter IX Creativity by Jeremy Sutton

Painter Wow book by Cher Threinen-Pendarvis

These are Painter 9 books but version 10 books should be out shortly if not now.

Suggest you browse them at you local bookstore first - but I think you'll like all of them They all come with cd's and Amazon, or other lower price book selled will most likely carry them too

Good luck and regards from someone who failed stick figures
