that mosaic effect made up of lots of images

Hi all
I totally don't know if I'm in the right place for this, but am trying to make an image that looks like a mosaic based on other images as individual mosaic blocks. Do you know what I mean? so difficult to explain. It looks like a mosaic, but if you zoom up close, it is made up of lots and lots of images. the light and/or dark tones in the images create the feel of a light or dark pixel piece that is then used as part of a much larger image.
help!
Karin

I know exactly what you need. There are several that do this but I only have experience with this one: Mosaic Creator

Another one that occurred to me was this one

It is less sophisticated but it is free and much faster.

Good luck and post some of your creations.
