Some Osprey Photo Art

wanted to start playing with some art treatments to some images I have that are nice but not perfect or like this one was just a chance thing that he came along when I was out shooting with a small lens... going to print some of what I will be working on to see if it will print out good... let me know your thoughts... it's art so am sure there are some things some will like & some that others don't... but I like to hear opinions... thank you in advance...

photo art is a great way of using up images that are not quite perfect
On this one i have to say i don't like the frame/matt i think it distracts from the bird, what i think maybe would be better is just a vignette effect
the colour of the sky and background are great

thanks palms for your opinion... ok so you think the matting work takes the front stage... just a bit to heavy for the ospery image you think? for me it was about adding texture around him to bring your eye into him... I will for sure try it a few ways before doing any printing... thank you so much for your reply...

how about this... I toned down the texture but I removed the blue edging because after seeing it here I didn't like the blue edge... what do you think now???

LOL Palms... well I like to try a few different things with images... sometimes what we think something will look like or do for the eye isn't always just one try thing... & just so you know I like the second version better myself... LOL again ty...

That is what art is all about though isn't it ? we all have different views so there is no right way and no wrong way just personal preferences

ty OlBaldy... that was an interesting read... well I have been a photographer for over 25 years... & I don't show my photography often with added framing or matts because I do think the images speak what you wanted them to speak but for show I do believe on my walls the right Right matting & right Right framing draws one's eye in... so if others do place matting or framing now on the net to show their work I guess I don't find that any different then when they place photography work up in a physical gallery... ok now with that said... LOL
what I am working on here is not just a photograph... for me it's about taking the photograph in another direction of art... so adding texture & matting is about the whole image not just be a framing it for me is about being part of that art...
