| Want to turn photo to drawings Hello New here - I have been working with Corel Photo Paint for a little over a year. I recently got Draw and Paint 9. I bought Photo-Paint 9 book but what I am looking to do isn't in there or at least I have not found it yet. First let me explain.. I am want to take the digital pictures I have taken of flowers in my garden and turn them in to drawing kids can color. I have had Corel trace recommend to do this but I can't seem to get to make them look right and am looking for a tutor on how to do this. Can someone point me in the right direction on what to read or how to do make these flower pictures in to coloring book like drawings. Thank you in advice for any help Kimberly |

| Kimberly: Hello and welcome. Wish I had some great news for you regarding specific tutorials. All of the tutorials I'm aware of (mostly through personal interest) are Photoshop centric. (What else is new, huh?) Don't misunderstand... I'm not knocking Photo-paint (I have PP10, as a matter of fact, but barely have used it); there just don't seem to be many tutorials written for it. I don't know the exact steps in PP10, but fundamentally you'd want to do something like: * Convert the image to grayscale (Black and White) * Use one of the "edge" filters (Find Edges?) to emphasize the edges * I believe one of the lense effects (levels?) will allow you to convert the mid-tone grays to white, leaving a B&W line drawing, suitable for coloring. You might get more help here... http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satelli...=1044287290205 It will take you to a list of Corel product news groups. I've participated in the Photo-paint and Knockout ones before and the folks are very knowledgeable and helpful. Here's another that might prove to be useful: http://www.visionary-voyager.com.au/...okes/index.htm This site has a WEALTH of info... This link goes to a tutorial, but poke around here, too: http://www.wetcanvas.com/ArtSchool/Digital/WacomPen/ So, these ought to get you movin' a little bit. Hope some of this is helpful to you. ~DannyR~ |
