Re: Take your pick

Thanks Craig. I haven't really played too much with displacement mapping, but I do see some cool ideas that can be used with it.

Re: Take your pick

it can be rather interesting at times, lk this is one from a filter i made in filter forge, trying to replicate the displacement map feature of psp and ps.

(sorry, i'll try not to hijack the thread any more)

Re: Take your pick

thanks guys

yes, that got a nice reaction on the filter forge forum also because filter forge can use 'surface' mapping in the form of HDR lighting, you can get this displacement type effect quite nicely from a texture mapped onto an image. the disadvantage is that i can only use one image plus the texture created in filter forge. so, if i have two images, one as source and one for the texture, i cant do it in FF.

and lol, lk. in an odd sort of way, that's one of the best compliments i've ever gotten

(sorry, janet. didnt mean to hijack your thread)

Re: Take your pick

well, since it looks like i killed this thread, i thought i'd better kick-start it again.

this was done from a couple of filterforge filters, then taken back into psp where those got blended by blend modes and opacity. added a curves, did some airbrush and finished all this off with some smudging and more blend modes.

Re: Take your pick

Craig, what would you do if someone came and took your FF toy away? Now, how 'bout a better crop?
