Hello everyone,
I'm new here and just want to thank you for the fantastic tutorials.

Another newbie, who loves to play with Psp and any program that piques my interest.
I've had a fun time playing with the beautiful pic of Lisa and turning her into a cyber girl colored pencil sketch.

These challenges are fun and a great way of getting the creative juices flowing.
I'm an artist using the traditional mediums so it's fantastic to discover all the possibilities using different programs - and a never-ending supply of canvas and paints is a bonus

well, i envy you your skill in traditional media. i can do a halfway decent stick figure and that's about it. but give me a digital camera and a digital program...

Wow Kath; you nailed the black hair. That's the problem that I've had with all the different blur/dodge sketch techniques that I've tried before; black hair; black anything. What's the secret?.

OK; lost count after Amphisoft's Simplifier, and GREYCStoration (see link below). I can say, that a lot of manual smudging was added too.

Outstanding interpretation, Lyle. The smudge work is exceptional. Did you do that in Photoshop? If so, which brushes did you use?

Nice touch on that sparkle you added to the rock, too! (LOL)

Thanks for the comments all; to Danny's inquiry, after Simplifier and GREYC, I just used a resized version of GIMP's Galaxy brush (one of my favorite brushes for smoothing things out). Yes, I go back and forth between CS2 and GIMP; I'm just better at GIMP for now. My only beef with the GIMP is no dynamic sized brushes; had to resize the brush manually and save it in the two other sizes that I like to use. I really hope they address this issue with GIMP 2.4x.

Steve I have to agree with you, that is an outstanding picture.
But did you realise it was posted in 2002, and this chap has not posted since April 2003. I really hope he is still about I would love to see more of his stuff.
