| | | wine roses and ...chocolate These are simply great renditions of this wine and rose image. Here is my shot at it.
I created a duplicate layer.
Deactivated the background layer.
Opened the channels pallet and chose the green channel (this one best showed the lines I wanted to use). I copied it and pasted it into a new channel.
filter >sharpen>sharpen edges.
Filter>stylize>find edges.
Adjust levels to emphasize the lines I wanted to use.
select>load selections and checked the invert box.
While still selected I applied Chalkaholic plugin. **
Back in layers reactivated the background layer and set at 75% opacity.
Left the "Chalkaholic" layer at 100% opacity with soft light blending. **Chalkaholic is available here

Reason: Corrected spelling of Chalkaholic plugin to avoid confusion.

| | | These last two interpretations are quite well done. I really appreciate their diversity.
Thx, cardmnal, for the Chalkaholic link. Those little tidbits are greatly appreciated. |

| | I downloaded this image ages and finally got around to doing it last night.
Did some levels adjustment then applied Virtual Photographer Radiant filter. Selected image and used it to define a pattern then used the pattern stamp tool with two different brushes on two separate layers. Blended the layers together, duplicated result and applied slight emboss for texture. Placed coloured faux canvas layer below the finished image and used a layer mask to reveal the edges of the faux canvas layer. Applied my own texture to the top to finish.

lots of dup layers and masking/bluring/unmasking to bring the rose out.
also played with a filter I had never used before: water paper |

Your work to emphasize the rose really sets it off. Well done. |

| | | Books and Wine Glass Prepared image in PSPX (lightened, saturated colours etc)
Cloned in Painter on a black canvas.
Using Den's Funky Chunky to block in all of the bg and then blended.
Ron E's Brushes/ "Block- in" Brush for books wineglass etc. and then blended.
Oils/Smeary Bristle Spray for detail of glass, books, rose etc.
Added some highlights with same brush...
Surface Texture/Image Luminance 14%
Back in PSPX - AIM/USM plus a soft light layer added and merged.
Duped this layer - added a canvas texture to bottom layer and erased
parts to show through on 2nd layer.
Merged both layers...
Click on button bottom right corner of painting to see it larger - it looks dreadful otherwise!
Cheers |
