Tutorial (link): Michael Campbell, master artist, Painter
Note: He does not get into a lot of "how-to" detail (he markets educational items on his website), but I assure you the example images he and others posted will stimulate ideas.

BTW: I just read that Michael used to be a geologist before he bagged that profession to for photography and painting. So there is hope for people like me (who can't draw a lick)!
I'd like to confirm Danny's recommendation and urge you all to view the link suggested! Michael's work is awe-inspiring and never to be forgotten!!!
Danny, thanks for the inspiration! We could probably do a lot of challenges on achieving effects similar to Michael's. Really lovely.
Hi Danny thanks for the kind words. The thread
Yes I have a masters degree in geology and chemistry both uselss for doing digital photography. I came to USA in 1979 to stay with Ansel Adams, and Paul Caponigro in order to write articles for the British journal of Photography. I also met Elliott Porter, Beaumont Newall, Brett Weston Neil Weston and ended up getting a job with Phillip Charis in Pasadena.
my corporation is IMAGEOLOGIST INC. ( I'M A GEOLOGIST INC )
THE Painter Wow THREAD was nicknamed Threadzilla by Bill Guy as it has had about 140,000 views so far. It is not really a QA thread i just stick up stuff for fun. When my son (Alex 13 ) wins a track and field meet or i go on a trip to Scotland or Mexico I often post a snap. So it is more of a diary or blog.
When my home burned down in 2003 and I lost about everything, I had amazing messages ( and checks ! ) of support from all over the USA and other countries as well, it was heart warming, it helped me get back on my feet.
Please stop by...
Well I must buzz off ... 'Lang may yer langs reek' as they say in the Highlands.
you can see more stuff on my Apple website
