Selling your artwork - Yahoo groups

From a Yahoo group adobephotoshop@yahoogroups.com message 1/9/2006...

Quote:
...Many of us use Adobe-Photoshop to create art work for sale.

I have started a new yahoo group for artists wishing to learn more
about selling and marketing their artwork.

Here's a description of the new group:

Often, it's easier to create art work than it is to sell and profit from your artwork. Whether you are creating fine art (oil, watercolor, pastels, acrylics, etc.); collage; decorative art (tole painting); or greeting cards, you need to know some of the avenues to get your artwork from your studio into the hands of a customer.

This forum will share information on exhibiting your artwork, entering shows, being accepted by galleries, website sales, how to price your artwork, etc.

Do I have all the answers??? No!!! I am an artist, have a Master's degree in Business and have taught Marketing. I have successfully exhibited and sold artwork, but certainly do not have all the answers. We all have lots to learn. How do we do that??? Only by asking questions and sharing successul experiences and advice.

Please... no companies promoting "successul work from home" or other commercial enterprises. This group is dedicated to those who struggle and those who succeed as a result of hard work.

If you are interested in joining, just send an e-mail to me at:

Scrapcat2@aol.com

and I will have Yahoo send you an invitation.

Thanks Danny,

Yes it sounds interesting, will browse and see if I can add something useful to the group and of course get some guides. Considering all I still have to learn is rather like leaping ahead but can try.

Will post my findings here. Regards - Martha

Art shows

Here's one related to shows for selling (mostly) unmanipulated photos, but much of the information can be applied to "arty photos" as well...
