Cool stuff.

I really like the effect (gave it a try myself, but will not post). Very easy to do to. Kudos to the one who figured out how to do this.

Pity you arent posting Ikroll, as i have found that the problem with the size is making it big enough

ken,

i love those. very vivid. i like that you can make out, to some extent, what they were originally. but the twisting just takes it to whole new places. i think maybe the ovals do this more than the circles.

lk,

you might not want to show this to your mom. i'm sure there are more flattering images of her and yes, very cool

this one is with a hexagon selection of our parrot, posted by nancy in another thread.

ok, that first one wasnt done on the original parrot picture. this second one was done on the original using a rectangular selection.

I like it Steve.

This Magic Circle thing will catch on. I remember an Escher self portrait where he holds out a globe which shows the reflection of his face. This would be a cool effect for someone to try.

Craig i had been thinking of trying a hexagon, think i will give up on different shapes now and will have to think along the lines of trimoon and Ikroll ( given a chance)
Trimoon absolutely adore that, It is worthy of being printed and framed

palms,

yes, the hex isnt quite as good as the rectangle and square. the circles dont come out as much.

trimoon,

you're definitely taking this to new levels. quite a festival of colors there!

OK; this is real cool Palms; converted mine to a globe. Started my using the AC that I posted originally. Sorry for the artifacts, but I wanted to keep the transparancies so I saved it as PNG (Neuqant for higher quality).

Seeing as how I removed the fractal programs from my PC bcs they were too addictive and I gave up the kaleidoscope groups at Flickr for the same reason ... you KNEW I couldn't stay away from this.

Re: Tutorial (link): Amazing circles (Photoshop) -

Amazing Circles indeed...

Forgot how fun these are. Thx for shaking the tree, Palms.

Saw the potential and wrote an action under PS CS3 to simplify the steps. Takes about 15 seconds and works on any size image, any PPI.

The action should work with PS7 and later, but I am unable test on a Mac or other versions of PS.

e-mail me if you would like to test the action before I upload for general availability.

Re: Tutorial (link): Amazing circles (Photoshop) -

Nice one Danny
Have you thought of starting a blog with your actions so that they are all in one place ?

By the way if you want to know how i made the hoops follow the tut for teardrops but when it says to increase the canvas so that the circle is at the bottom, make it so that the circle is in the middle, then remove the solid inner bit

I "think about it" just about every day, but doing something about it is a different story completely! It's definitely on the "do someday" list you.

LK, CJ: you're going to break the FUN METER if you don't watch out!

Seriously, you have done some amazing creations.

Lyle, love your Interlock !!!! Seamless too - wow!

M-A - your werewolf has been tamed

Palms, Danny -- these are fun, and allow for adding gradients, lines, shapes and colors before running the Polar coord. - never know what we'll get!

I like the organic flows of your last couple CJ. Thought I would turn my last effort to what I call a glass whicker. Still wanting to retain the transparancies so here's the link. I attached an 8-bit converted PNG so it will have aliasing issues.
