Re: Tutorial (link): Amazing circles (Photoshop) - Palms, so lovely !! Like the rotating rings also! I used to do "polar vases", but I never added the perspective and warp moves to make the top look more interesting. Here's my original polar vase from some years ago and one that tries to go along with the tutorial with some fake flowers added with "flower" brushes --didn't have any flowers available.

Re: Tutorial (link): Amazing circles (Photoshop) - Cool vases Palms. Still having fun. Figured out a way to create a more realistic glass look. Just providing a link (you all probably getting tired of my renditions anyway; lol). http://img114.imageshack.us/img114/4489/interlock4.png

Re: Tutorial (link): Amazing circles (Photoshop) - OK Palms. Figured out how to create drunken squares using GIMP's Whirl and Pinch (angle setting set to 0) which is cool (yes; transparent, but this one didn't require 8-bit conversion for compression {i.e., full color}). Also same technique can be used for metallic rings. created the ring and made a smaller brush and stroked the center of the big ring and then erased one point of each of small rings (to give a sense of overlap) and then fed the the result into Mehdi's Kaleidoscope filter for the seamless result. Again thanks a lot for getting me on another binge (now how am I going to break this one? lol).

Re: Tutorial (link): Amazing circles (Photoshop) - Also used Simple Diamonds preset for the seamless rotation and added bejewed background for this new try at caged glass. And yes, this texture is seamless too.

Re: Tutorial (link): Amazing circles (Photoshop) - Like what you did too Craig. Now for the bad news (but hopefully only temporary). I'm currently editorless (i.e., don't have either GIMP or CS2 installed right now since I just upgraded my PC to Win7). I'm experienceing a learning curve now and getting my virtual PC VM of XP up to par. Weird that it defaulted with just 256MBytes of RAM, but I remedied that. I also have to get Virtualbox installed too. Think I will pass on VMPlayer since two VM programs is more then enough for me to work with right this moment. I have a busy weekend too, so might not see too much of me w.r.t. rendering for the next few days (or weeks God forbid of course). until I get my PC up to snuff. I do like the built in monitor calibration tool for Win7 (pretty much what I would have gotten with NVidia's calibration tool).

Re: Tutorial (link): Amazing circles (Photoshop) - Only short-term pain Craig. See my post below (includes a screenshot). Only issue I have now is my manual calibration (not happy with it; really need to get a hardware calibrator). http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/re...ssage=33457621
