| | | Plugin (link): Bas-Relief, Redfield plugins emboss like John Redfield has done it again... Another FREE plugin. And this one is really cool.
---------------------
Redfield Plugins News:
February.13.2007 - Bas-Relief filter transforms an image to appear carved in low-relief, including lighting effects to accent the surface variations. It can look like aluminum foil, hammered metal, or carved stone. Bas-Relief plug-in is an easy-to-use tool to convert a photo to a pencil sketch.
Please visit Bas-Relief plug-in page to view the samples: http://www.redfieldplugins.com/Redfield++.htm

To me the output of this plugin resembles the output of Elements' or Photoshop's Emboss filter on steroids. I mean you can really exaggerate the illusion of depth.
Installation note for Photoshop users who install 3rd party plugins in a custom folder:
I could not make this work from my custom plugins folder. It appears this plugin must be installed in Photoshop's \Filters folder. I installed it as follows; doing otherwise resulted in no entry in the Filter menu.
\Plug-Ins\Filters\Redfield
---------------------
Have fun...

Got it, it looks very good.
BTW I installed mine to a custom plugin folder - no problems works a charm.

| | Re: Plugin (link): Bas-Relief, Redfield plugins emboss like Swampy, these are for Windows only, but I run them on Intel Macs via Boot Camp and/or Parallels. See my Redfield samples here. They are among the coolest set of plug-ins I know of!
I downloaded the new Bas-Relief filter yesterday but haven't visited Windows with it yet... ;-) |

| | | Re: Plugin (link): Bas-Relief, Redfield plugins emboss like I finally got around to downloading and trying out this new Redfield plugin. Simply put, it is top notch. I think I will totally ignore the emboss filter from now on.
A big Thank You for designing and making this plugin available for all.
