John Redfield has done it again... Another FREE plugin. And this one is really cool.

---------------------

Redfield Plugins News:

February.13.2007 - Bas-Relief filter transforms an image to appear carved in low-relief, including lighting effects to accent the surface variations. It can look like aluminum foil, hammered metal, or carved stone. Bas-Relief plug-in is an easy-to-use tool to convert a photo to a pencil sketch.

Please visit Bas-Relief plug-in page to view the samples:

---------------------

To me the output of this plugin resembles the output of Elements' or Photoshop's Emboss filter on steroids. I mean you can really exaggerate the illusion of depth.

Installation note for Photoshop users who install 3rd party plugins in a custom folder:
I could not make this work from my custom plugins folder. It appears this plugin must be installed in Photoshop's \Filters folder. I installed it as follows; doing otherwise resulted in no entry in the Filter menu.

\Plug-Ins\Filters\Redfield

---------------------

Have fun...

~Danny~

Thanks for the link Danny.
Got it, it looks very good.

BTW I installed mine to a custom plugin folder - no problems works a charm.

Would help if folks would say if plug-ins are for Mac or PC or Both.

Thumbs down Re: Plugin (link): Bas-Relief, Redfield plugins emboss like

Swampy, these are for Windows only, but I run them on Intel Macs via Boot Camp and/or Parallels. See my Redfield samples here. They are among the coolest set of plug-ins I know of!

I downloaded the new Bas-Relief filter yesterday but haven't visited Windows with it yet... ;-)

Thanks, P 'n P. An Intel Mac is a bit down the road for me, but I'm sure it will open up a whole new world when I upgrade.

Indeed it will! Run ANY app or plug-in you want on the same machine. No more "us and them". Mostly... ;-)

But the real question is, why pay for two OS's. If you don't, then you're a law breaker. lol

Craig...I can't believe you broke down and bought CS2. I left PSP after version 9...seems you left after 11.
