How is this still life redone with picture

I have been trying to figure out how this still life is done. I am assuming layers and using a candle to light the object. If you know of any tutorials could you please link them for me. I am still a little new to Photoshop CS3. Thanks

Very nice images here and i like the style
apart from the start image i think you are right in that layers are used, what ones though i am not sure of
perhaps coloured layers, lighting layer/ vignette some burning and then textures
Take a look here at the mini tuts they might give you some ideas ( there are textures there as well ) the style is lighter but take a peek at her grunge art set
