I have had no problem. on the web page there is this advice maybe it might be a answer for you Steve

Troubleshoot help:

Recommended browser: Mozilla Firefox

The applet is tested and working in browsers with Java plugin:
- Windows - Firefox, Opera, Chrome, Internet Exporer (allow popup)
- MacOS Snow Leopard (10.6) - Firefox, Safari (allow popup)
- Linux (tested on Ubuntu) - Firefox, Chrome

Save and upload from MacOS Tiger (10.4) and Leopard (10.5) is not working correctly, there is older java and you get a solid pink background. :/

If applet is not running in a browser window try to:
1. reload page and wait a while, if it doesn't help,
2. delete browsers cache and restart browser, if this doesn't help,
3. download latest Java (you need Java 6 Update 10 or later) from here for windows or manually from here for all operating systems and reload page. Test if you have installed latest Java plugin here.
4. use Firefox instead of Internet Exporer (you have to allow active content and unblock popup in IE).

now to try and get off the site

Re: Flame painting

Yeah; someone posted it on DPR's Retouch forum around a week ago. Pretty cool stuf he has. Not just the flame paint JAVA program. Not trying to hold out on you, but I post a little here, a little at FredMiranda, some at Innographx, and a touch more at DPR so I'm spread thin (forgot to mention the GIMP Registry and GIMPtalk). lol

Here's something that I came up with: http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/re...ssage=35488752

Re: Flame painting

I know; old post. Decided (in part since I did make some money last week) to splurge the now $15 for the Windows version for this gem. Without a pen pad, I doubt I will get much use with it, but the current version does support layers so I was able to use a flower on the base layer and trace the result. Below's a PNG file with transparent background (probably will show with white background since that's the browser default for most folk).
