I created a copy from a luminence mask of the original photo, this was used to generate a full size pattern.

Used the healing brush in pattern mode to paint over a textured background.

This is a facinating technique and results.

For the benefit of those less experienced, when you get time would you elaborate on how you created the luminosity mask and subsequently used to to make a pattern + how one gets the healing brush into pattern mode.

Some curious minds (mine included) need a few more dots to connect.
