Tutorial (link): Layer masks, compositing, combining images

http://www.designertoday.com/tabinde...opDefault.aspx

Just about everyone wants to learn how to combine parts of different images. One way to do that is by using Layer Masks. This well-illustrated and easy to follow tutorial addresses what I believe to be one of the most useful functions you'll ever find.

Although this tutorial is written for Photoshop users, other programs such as PhotoPaint and Corel Painter (ver 8 and later) have the equivalent functionality.

Regardless of which program you use, I highly recommend learning about and how to use Layer Masks.
