First I'd like to thank everyone for the very warm welcome you offered-- you really made me feel right at home. Danny, your comment in the guest book at my gallery was especially appreciated, and it was very nice of you to post a link at this site to my pictures. I'm going to like it here, and you've certainly encouraged me to participate!

Margaret, in answer to your question, my work on the brother&sister image was done entirely in Photoshop-- I've been working on a new technique for easily creating various types of sketches from photographs. It was my intention to answer your post within the thread for the brother&sister images, but tonight the thread seemed nowhere to be found! In the future I'll try very hard to respond more quickly-- sometimes, I'm afraid, deadlines for the work we have to complete must take priority over those projects with which we'd like to play! (And editors are notoriously short on both tolerance and humor when it comes to deadlines!)

So, finally, here is a quick rendition I did of the cute little dog-- these challenges are fun and relaxing, and I enjoy them. This obviously is not what is usually considered "a man's dog", but I love working with all that fur!

Thanks for letting me participate.

Take care,

Shoshanna

Just to better show the paint effect and appearance of brushwork I'm uploading a cropped version of the dog picture-- it probably should have accompanied the earlier post, but I hadn't realized it was possible to attach two separate images to the same message. My apologies!

Take care,

Shoshanna

Thanks, Amanda-- and yes, this was strictly a Photoshop job. I was stuck on a phone call that had gone on way too long, and decided to do improve the shining hour by indulging in some digital doodling. <g>

Take care,

Shoshanna
