Everyone's a pleasure to look at, but I esp. like malia01us's.
For mine I used gradient map (light spectrum), paint engine, buzz simp1, and image adjs channel mixer, levels, brightness-contr, and burn and dodge tools. Layer palette included.

Great paintings, everyone. Thanks, Janet, for the beautiful photo!
I did this in painter IX w/ oil and pastel brushes.

[QUOTE=Janet Petty]I took this picture about 25 years ago and just now found it in some old boxes in the basement. After scanning it, I thought it might be a good photo art opportunity.

Hey,
Reminds me of places I've been and wished that I were still. Here is my attempt. All Photoshop CS. No record of what steps, still working on that.

George of Texas

My second attempt at this one.
P.S. Oh, Austin, Texas, where I live has an
enormous bat (Mexican Freetail) colony living under the
congress avenue bridge. So I was glad to
see the "Bat" smiley.

Speaking of Trouble at Yellowstone...

It could happen... but it sure would be a great loss. Yellowstone is such a beautiful place.

That's unreal. I love lateral thinking. It's a very scary thought if that Yellowstone super Vulcano blows.

Cat, I love yours. But then I usually do like what you come up with.

GHolmes, great, great, great. Very nice work.

And to the lateral thinker with the lava...same goes. Nice work and very interesting.

If I've left anyone out, forgive me. I'm braindead and

Janet

Besides being a great idea, this is very well executed.

Thanks everyone!

I almost didn't post it. I wasn't sure how well it would be received since it's such a departure from the original. I glad you all liked it. It took forever to find source images whith lava in the right perspective, but when I read the picture was from Yellowstone, that's the first thing I thought of. I really hope it never happens.
