Macro picture to paint

Hello everyone - I have been so busy lately, but i will always have time for this forum, its one of the very best on the internet i have found alot of wonderful friends since joining this forum.

I recently got a digital camera that had macro on it, so asking a few members here how to do macro photography, i took advantage of the beautiful sunshine we had yesterday and took a picture of a pink flowering bush in my sisters garden (no rude giggles please)

Here is the picture

You might have to sharpen it or whatever but have fun!

Hi, Janet. Seems you liked this one!

Process + / -

Base Image:
Ten-minute tool box, including "double size"

Before AHB
Make 2 addicional snapshots - one GBlur 20 and the other GBlur 6

AHB
Using "directional" brushes (angle is set to direction - this is what makes the brushes "swoosh" in the right direction) - tools attached
Paint whole canvas with brush 40, using the GBlur 20 as base;
Next layer, brush 20, base GBlur 6, paint in some details;
Next layer, brush 10, base (no blur), paint edges.

After AHB
Merge all painted layers to a new layer and emboss using Filters>Other>Custom (*). Applied Auto-Levels to embossed layer to increase the effect and blended as Linear Light 100%

(the outline layer is a guide for painting - doesn't affect the final image)

Hope I remembered everything - in doubt, just ask.

* for those that are interested (3x3 matrix: 1,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,-1 - offset 128)

Judy, there's only one thing wrong with your painting - the signature is partially hidden. Although we all can easily recognize an original jaykita.

Ab. Fab!!
