Image Hosting - Recommendations?

When I don't know something, I'm not usually one to ask for help (much to my wife's dismay).....

But this is a case where I think the input / comments from my friends around here is fundamental.

I looking for a free place to put gallery of my "arty" stuff, max size 1MB each. There seems to be quite a few places out there, so I would like some recommendations.

Thanks in advance.

Ro,

as i've been considering getting some web hosting also, i have a few links you can check out. not sure how many are free, but it's a start.

this site reviews web hosting sites:
http://www.websitehostingreviews.com/getHosts11.html

this one used to have some free space. not sure if it still does or not:
http://www.streamload.com/

and this link is where i got the info about the link above:
http://news.zdnet.com/2100-9588_22-5...eed&subj=zdnet

you might also try: www.deviantart.com i believe they have free image hosting and your own folder area once registered. great site for images.

K.

I can only comment one I'm familiar with, PBase.
It's not free, but only $23 a year for 300mg of storage space. Quite a lot of features as well.

Lightbulb Free image storage - with ads !

Ro,

The links below are from sites that host images and have a good storage space available. The only problem is that they have ads, but you can always opt for their paid "premium" alternative in which case they will not add ads.

Only today have just subscribed to Photobucket and liked the easy to use album possibility, also to create sub-albums.

Photobucket
Imageshack

Hope you find what you need.

Rgds - Martha

Not free but cheap, I'm just setting up more Galleries now after happily using my 30 days freely. Your images are right-click protected and the only ad on your pages is a small Photoshare Ad.

I noticed that someone else here was using this service in a post a couple of days ago - I know nothing about it, but it looked work exploring (as it's free)

In another forum today I saw a recommedation for this one too: http://www.flickr.com/

I have found this one: http://www.gfoto.com/
They claim 1000 megabytes of free photo sharing & storage.

First, thanks to all for the help.
I visited all the suggested sites, tried out most of them - and up to now I have found flickr to be the friendliest and most responsive.

So, unless something else crops up - you can find my stuff here:

I use Flickr but also Snapixel. Got the Snapixel free for a year but will likely continue. Inexpensive and no limit on uploads. I only use it for storage, but you can also sell from there.
