deep depth shots are always fun to play with.

i whipped these out fairly quickly. the basic process is reversing the image to a negative and then wildly varying a curves layer. a few other things were done, but the basis for all of this is reverse image and curves.

I decided on two different approaches (moods) for this pic, so posted both. The steps involved were a bit haphazard, so once again, I can't retrace the procedurs......if anyone was interested that is!

Can I make a critique?

If you still have the layered file, how about lightening the bridge layer's background greenery (the river line), then defringing the whole bridge layer to remove the white outline.

This will blend the bridge layer with the new sky perfectly yet still allow you to see the trees/bushes..

Great shot from a moving boat, Dawn!

Thanks for posting it so we could play.

I made a layer from the Blue channel, applied a levels adjustment layer to it to remove most of the midtones and fine tuned with Thresholds to get this stark BW look.

FWIW - this was a completely accidental result. I had no idea when I started that this is where my flailing would take me.
