Steve, I like the second one better, too. It looks as if she's sitting beside a wall of water. Very creative idea, IMHO.

Two different Imp effects in one, with a little of the original to bring back those lovely eyes.
This was done quite quickly - I'd normally spend more time on the background chalky effect..

I like the photo-original, therefore I have tried to make imitation of oilpainting, using PS CS2, Impressionist and Painter IX.

Very nice, Fluff. I've played around with Impressionist, but I have to admit I usually end up deleting those layers. I love to see how people use it, and maybe I'll eventually "get it" myself
