I think its because I use Firefox. In any case, if you click on open when the download screen comes up, it won't download the picture, it will just open it from the webpage.

Ok, Fox, I trusted you and clicked "Open" and it took me to your picture. We're all a little jumpy these days about opening files offered on the net

Great results everyone!!!

What a coincidence I spotted this very apple over at ImageAfter website so I figured it was a sign I should give this one a go. I forget about the Mosaic feature in Painter so made use of it today. As you can see, I need MORE practice!

Very cool mosaic, Neve. Painter's mosaic effect has great possibilities, but it sure isn't the easiest to use. Well done, especially in the areas of large blocks of color.

I'm experimenting with a Photoshop action that automates the 2x3 layer setup. I then messed with the individual panels applying various effects such as invert color, invert BW, Halftone dots, Posterize and an Impressionist plugin effect. On one "I did nothing."

In retrospect I overkilled on the lines-between-images width, but was too lazy to go back and make them thinner. Maybe I'll modify the action to make that task simpler.

Thanks Craig and Danny. You got me thinking Danny about posterizing. These two images were my prep images, first one in PSPro mainly smoothing out using Neat Image/Noise Removal, adding a border.

In Painter I posterized the image, dropped both layers and then cloned that image. Only used one brush to clone on the apple itself i.e. Oil Pastels/Round Oil Pastel 10. The border was painted with one of Jeremy Sutton's Fav Brushes. Result posted above...!
