thanks patricia

actually, i dont like it that much now that it's posted (mine, not the originals). i had something in mind and it just doesnt look right now to me. the idea was to put 'lights' in some of the flowers. i think the frame is too large also. hehe, that's the trouble with being a critic and an artist. you always tear down your own work the most

Thanks for the play Palms.

My usually workflow except I used Plastic Wrap instead of Chrome. Otherwise, Impressionist (djrOil24 preset; also used Thread2 preset with lowered Opacity and changed Orientation angle to fixed to create the canvas), GIMP Bumpmapping and some saturation enhancements. afterwards, where I wanted just oil and not canvas, I selectively erased the canvas texture.

Nice photo palms. I think winter passed us by in the Los Angeles area. It was 84 degrees today.

I buzzed the photo, and then masked out the background. I added a color background, played with the blending modes, and added a watercolor texture.

I'm loving the cute little birdhouse. What fun to play around with.

Lyle, your "sewing one" of this looks like a real tapestry.

Ikroll liked both your postings and i am not fed up of the sewing in fact i had the thought of isolating the snowdrops and trying your preset on them but after spending two hours trying to select just the flowers i gave up.

Cathy your posting has a gentle feel to it quite restful, not really complaining about our winter it hasn't been that bad so far today it will be a warm 7 degrees and a bit chillier tonight at about -5 degrees but the sky is blue and the sun is out which beats all the grey clouds and damp

Janet problem with the birdhouse is the birds dont think it is cute ( which is why it is on the floor )

Thanks all for the comments.

I've actually dedicated this month to tapestry/sewing on my ArtWanted site. Not a paying member, so I can only upload three samples a month; enough for me. Not as talented as most of the folks here.
