Sharing this guy's Highkey Sketch and technique.

Have to visit DPR's site to see Bruce's rendering. He share's an action that really has some oomph for creating this form of rendering. Just had to share.

A sample using Bruce's action and Impressionist.

Makes pencils sketches much easier and realistic. Hope you all think so too.

I too have been messing around with this action, and it has gone to top of my favorite list. Here is a couple i have done ( photo from another thread)

Palms, your rendition is very nice.
Lkroll, yours is excellent too. Mind telling us which impressions style you used?

I used a blend of the default setting and Detailed Colored Pencil.

I then desaturated of course. That's what required both selective erasing and some smudging afterwards. Still have to do too much hand-retouching, but I can not get the look that I want otherwise. I won't give up in trying to get the computer to do all the work though. You all know that.

Another method you can try -

Add a black to white gradient layer and adjust the white slider to produce the High Key effect.

Merge to a new layer, duplicate this layer, layer mode to colour dodge, invert and gaussian blur until a very very faint outline shows. On 300ppi image I used 4.5 pix.

Merge to new layer and run apply image in multiply mode until you get the desired result.

This can give a sketch with much finer lines.

That's cool Xaran. I also use my own method that I outlined here (you all know I like using filters). I usually use GIMP to do this (with Script-fus), but this time I did it Photoshop using Flaming Pear's Tachyon filter and layer properties.
