Thanks for the comments all. I'm sure enjoying this thread. There are so many wonderful, creative, and well executed entries, that if it weren't random, I'd surely be hard pressed to choose one above another.

Craig, is that term used to mean "smokin' " as in top-notch, fast fiddlin'? Cool idea.

As per StudioJ's observations I was turning the violin around (doesn't look too good the other way).
So I played with the blending modes between the two versions and this little guy appeared in the middle.

..So then I touched "him" up a little.

Oh, my goodness! This is a classy, creative and beautiful thread, everybody!
Here's my effort, done in Painter IX, mostly with the Flemish Rub brush.

Play based on Danny's djroil24 again. :)

Some other stuff too; selective cleaning and erasing as well. Enhanced the saturation and color at the end.
