Here's my feeble attempt using the primative art media oil brush in PSP 9. I think I could have painted faster with a real brush lol.

But you didn't have any painting supplies to buy nor any cleanup afterwards!

Seriously, this is quite good and I'm genuinely impressed. Is the PSP effect you mention a clone-type effect or did you more/or/less free-hand trace this?

Danny and Cassidy, thanks for the positive feedback. The art media tools in PSP 9 operate on a special layer above the background layer, and there are different kinds of media like oil, chalk, crayon, etc. Basically what happens is ever time you click on the mouse button, it clones the color from the background layer that you clicked on, and then you're stuck with that color for the rest of the stroke. Unlike Deep Paint where it keeps cloning more colors in the same stroke. Its really time consuming, but I guess if you put enough work into it, you could get some nice results.

that's only if you have 'trace' mode turned on...at least in psp 10. 9 may be different, though.

Of course this is not the violin you posted, but the subject it's CREATIVE INTERPRETATIONS: VIOLIN.

So I'm a Luthier too, I found very creative what you have done with that pic, so I want to share some creative violins

I where working with a laser cutting machine and the result it's attached.

Someone could doit in photoshop, of course, but this is a Real Violin with a Real Shield Laser graved on it.

danny,

here's an art media 'crayon', both with just the art media layer and with the background layer turned on.

Nice work studioj. Do you play in an orchestra, or are you just interested in instruments?

Craig, nice effect on that crayon version.
