Honey

Well you guys seem to like flowers.
Here is a Honeysuckle to practice with, found growing wild nearby.

Neon metallic.

Beautiful capture Peter. Hope you like this one. Used Flaming Pear's Mr. Contrast and Danny's djroil24 preset for this one. For the glow, I used one of my favorite GIMP tricks; I ran Xero's Pastellize filter on a separate layer and set the layer property to Divide. I also added a few selective smudges too. Here's the complete hi-res rendering. Attached is a low-res crop.

Simple Beauty

And to think I spent all of last summer getting rid of a fenceline of this flower!!

Thank you for sharing. By the way, the butterfly is real. It does have transparent wings!

Peter

Great get! Too lovely not to play with! :-)

I was going for drama.

Selected the main flowers and copied to their own layer
Ran an omni lighting filter on them.
Texture on the original background and darkened the highlights

Thank you, Peter!

I did get a new Wacom for Christmas. This one has buttons and bells and whistles, but I don't have any of the extra features set up to do anything.

candice,

if you dont post that butterfly in a separate challenge, i will (with due credit of course ). when i first saw those transparent wings i thought, dragonfly! and i had to read it several times over and look at it again to be sure it wasnt. it's an excellent picture and worthy of a challenge.

I ran Paint Shop Pro's "auto-saturation" several times to get the color up a bit. Than applied GP using several of the styles and brushes therein.

Sorry about your eyes. 8-)
