A very nice image to work on. I used Lucas art filters on about three different layers of the image, and then used different layer modes until I had something that looked okay. I added some texture, and then I lost track of a few steps that I did.

Hello Frank...Lovely photo...your flowers must be ahead of mine...they are just opening out this week...

Love all the different artwork on this lovely apple blossom...amazing how many different ways a photo can be interpreted!!! well done to you all...

Here is mine...Done in photoshopCS2 with the art history brush ,blending mode...multiply...I then ran DC Special Beyond edger ( a great free filter and oh so useful) finished off with Lucis art sculpture mode...

Noticed that you used Lucis art on yours Cathy. its a great filter...

It is because I'm south of you... not much, but enough for them to come out a couple of weeks before yours.

Thanks Frank...I enjoyed doing your photo....Are you near enough to have 22 hours of daylight and 2 hours of dusk at this time of year???? I really like it ...cause sometimes i cant sleep and find the daylight less scary....Just a wimp really...lol...

I've been working on this technique for what seems like ages. I started with a tutorial but couldn't achieve the results I wanted using it. So I pretty much scrapped the whole thing and began my own journey into unknown realms. Finally, I have a picture I can post.
