Snapped this one at Jackson lake last weekend.

I did a quickie impressionist version which I like but think it needs some color.

I will leave it to you creative types to splash it up...

I used Brush strokes>Accented edges, some duplicate layers and I selected sky and water than hue/saturation, smudge tool and a sandstone texture. Voila!

palms1, looks as though Issy's is alive and well. Your soft sky really brings out the the rugged mountains. Great contrast using texture.

Oltenius, great job splashing on the color. You really brought the sky (and water) to life.

Very cool effect, Steve...

Mine was done using one of the inventive Photoshop actions written by Panos (see http://www.panosfx.com/index.php?opt...tpage&Itemid=1)

Unfortunately the pic came out a little ragged at 72 ppi, but is still a real pretty image to work with.

i like that. very subtle coloring. makes you reach out a bit to get it.

very colorful. reminded me of artic settings a bit and could sort of see a northern lights effect there.

excellent use of split framing and drop shadows. do the two outside frames have a curve to them or is that just the curve of my monitor i'm seeing?

Looks that way on my monitor too, now that I look closer...(picky...picky...picky. 8-) I measured it and it's the same at top & bottom as in the middle. The drop-shadow may be causing it.

hehe, actually, i dont. i just have...good eyes. it's both a blessing and a curse. and i think you're right about the illusion.
