I think it is "all that texture" that made me think of a paint by number kit. They never gave you enough paint to really cover the canvas. LOL

Not a really easy one to do, despite the appearances!
Here's mine, done mostly with smudging and an outline on soft light on top.

Hi Craig,
The Internet died on me yesterday while I was uploading the file, and then I forgot all about it!

By the way, I use that Alphaworks filter almost every day, thanks again for telling me about it!

Re: Rays Boat!!!

Peter, my first reaction when I saw the thumbnail was WOW. When I opened it to the full size, it remained the same. WOW! Wonderful color and vibrancy.

What can I say to that, but Wow myself Thank you Janet & Ziaphra.
I think I did this the night before my eye op, so I was doing anything but think about that. Sorry I can't remember the workflow, but would have been similar to other thing I've done. Thank you Palms for putting me onto Art history.
Some of the colouring would possibly come from Flaming Pears Zephyr plugin, I don't know exactly what it does, but it appears to look at existing colours in a pic and diffuse them out a bit, sometimes very pleasing sometimes over the top. This time it worked for me.

Re: Rays Boat!!!

A combination of Watercolor, Dry Brush, Smudge. I also used curves to lower the contrast and lighten the highlights a bit.

Re: Rays Boat!!!

Thanks for the compliment, Patricia. I really enjoy these challenges. I started doing this with PE 2.0 four years ago when my Mother turned 100. It was a way to save some really old and precious pictures of my Grandparents and parents.

I'm not into people that much. I really love landscapes, flowers, beaches, Mountains, etc.

Re: Rays Boat!!!

Nothing Arty, just thought I'd change the atmosphere by altering the sea and the lighting a touch.
