bad holiday snaps ! ! ! ! !

I have finally got round to sorting out some photo's from my holiday last year,
These are probably a good advert on how not to take photo's but at the time they seemed like a good idea i have played around trying to correct them but getting nowhere added to the fact they could be artified i thought i would post here and see what happens ( beware there may be questions asked )

have fun and really anything goes

Good shot and composition IMHO. I tweaked the brightness/contrast and added some brush strokes.

Always complaining... ...you've got to remember the "eye of the beholder" thing.

I do thank you and appreciate your comments.

So this is definitely NOT what you had in mind.

I used an Equalization plug-in I'm working on to pump up the image.
Cropped to make use of the strong diagonals.
Took out the top of the far hill which wasn't helping.
Sharpened the rocks at the front.
More equalization and tweaking etc...

For the "art" did a very rough Artistic>Cutout for the colours.
For the luminosity, a couple of sharpened "aniso" overlayed by a high-pass layer.

Is this beach in Wales?

You're right there - it's the tweaking of the good picture from out the "bad" picture that is all fun.

Nice work!
(I was going to do that )

Pindaro Love it, it gives quite a mystical feel to it super
By Ro, No it is not what i had in mind but better, I think its great when all the different interpretations and styles turn up. They knock my thoughts right out of the window. The beach is at Perranporth in Cornwall we went for the first time last year and will definetely go again

I don't think these are bad snaps in any way, shape, or form. I'd say keep up the good work.

I had a lot of fun processing your picture. It was a definite break from the boring work I've been doing lately. Thank you for sharing!!

I did the "painting" with the AHB after color enhancing the original.

Palms, thank you.

I did a quick 10 minutes job. Then I looked at the posted picture and finally saw all those jagged edges. Try to re-post the corrected verion (edges blirred).

Btw, I think the approach sort of get around the "baldness" problem. One can always say "there is lots of hair, you just can't see..."

trying...

Started with a tweaked copy from the blue channel to get a sky mask, a water mask and a rock mask. Worked on each section separately to enhance contrast, detail.
