My attempt.

I started with a bit of blur and selective colouring and ended up with something completely different.

Photoshop is soooooooo much fun

You know Patriciakay, I really don't know what year that song is from. It just came to mind looking at the sunflower.

Glad you liked my rendition of flower and song. 8-)

What a beautiful photo thank you!

It's still winter down here in OZ so it's nice to work on something that radiates some warmth! Done with Lucis Art and Impressionist i.e. "Stevie Acrylics" setting.

Steve another good render and sorry but not heard your ditty

Ikroll love the detail that gives to the centre of the flower.

Dan that looks very pretty.

Janet i wouldnt say ruined it but changed it and a change is as good as a rest.

Photovagrant what did you do to get your effect ? very interesting

Pavel if that is your first attempt then i say dont practice to much, it has a nice style to it, and your watercolour is super

Scubamargie i agree ps is fun and like your manipulation, i get torn between which i like doing manipulating a photo or painting ( i know the definition is a moot point but in my world i know what i mean )

Neve at least you know you have better weather coming, where as we know we have the worse weather coming as winter approaches Lucis art is another filter/plug in i havent tried (yet) but i do like the effects that are got from it so maybe soon

i have been a bit busy all over the weekend and havent had a go at this photo yet but hopefully will get there soon

Stupid of me, that song was written about the state of Kansas, also known as the "sunflower state", here in the U.S.

Not surprised you had not heard of it.

What I get for trying to be clever.

Re: Flower for the weekend

The song "The Sunflower State" was on the hit parades (seven hits per show) in Australia when I was a boy, probably during the period 1944-1950 approx.

Part of it went:
-
"I was born in Kansas, I was bred in Kansas;
And when I get married, I'll be wed in Kansas.
She's my true blue gal and I reiterate
She's my sunflower, from The Sunflower State.

I'm not certain about Line 3.
