Patricia Kay... I really like your #1. Very pretty!

I've always wanted to do a "Box Blur"...

Duplicated original layer, did a box blur to smear colors around. Blend Mode Luminosity.

Duplicate original again, moved to top of the layer stack, did a Smart Blur ->Edge Only for the sketchy effect. Set this layer's blend mode to Soft Light

Merged all, added texture, took a snap shot, then painted back with low opacity dry history brush.

Neve... great picture. I was surprised to see what looked like cabage palms in the background. Something you don't expect to see in context with tulips!

Tim's vintage scripts

Here's one more at you... This is my Quick Vintage # 15 script, this was done with PSP X, notice the vinyage edging of the white border. It different than anything you'll find on the net, I figured out how to do that.

Craig.

Box Blur, is a PhotoShop filter. You may have something similar in PSP. It basically blurs the color around, much like a gausian blur, but more "smeary" even at low settings. It can produce some nice backgrounds using the colors from a photo. Almost like a render clouds, but with all the colors in the photo not just the ones currently in your foreground/background color well.

The sample below is a box blur of the origina Tulip photo.

Absolutely awesome atm, I have jonquils and daffodils and tulips in my kitchenette, open the back door and the aroma of the promise of spring fills the air....the jonquils (sort of a mini daffodil) are very heady in scent, absolutely wonderful

Swampy thanks for the comment....I really like yours and will take note of how you did it.....delicate is the word i am looking for and i like that!

Kiska....fabulous pics you do in SA....sometimes wish i could stick with one or two programs but curiosity gets the best of me and i have to try yet another one!

Steve...Liked your lack of inspiration pic....turned out just fine.

Lean si.....Dark and dramatic....I like the look.

t2mouse....Nice one again....you are really good with your scripts in PSP...

Craig...Glad your computer is up and running again...its been really quiet in this forum...love the frame....it sets the tulips off really well...

Didn't have time to do anything other than a BW version - it's sacrilege getting rid of all that glorious colour!

I hadn't given it any thought Swampy to be honest with you about how incongruous it must seem - palms and tulips. I notice another photographer has snapped the tulips and that very same palm in the top pic at this website:-

Cheers
