Thanks everyone for your kind remarks feel a bit of a fraud as i was really messing around on a "what happens if" mode. I think everyones work is great some really good pictures that is turning this into another great thread with loads of tips and inspiration

Pavel what i did was to make a find edge layer (ps) run the emboss filter then overlay blend mode ( between you and me i was surprised at the result so saved and posted quickly )

You know it's so true. As Craig said in another thread we often surprise ourselves in a try this, try that manner. These challenges often give us a great opportunity just to explore things.

Often I start working on something with no idea of where I am going with it, but I stumble across something new, add a touch of something old and end up with a masterpiece. Witness my stormy boat posted above. I had no idea where I was going but after doing the sketch thing I discovered that the "Exclusion" blend mode was perfect although I seldome if ever have used it.
