Drach like the update just as much had a look at it with a white border that looked good

Patricia nice post the cat belongs to my nephew and there were 5 kittens but only one for the photograph

Craig just select a square of your photo paste to new layer and do what you want to it regarding colour texture etc then use the transform tool ( not sure what it is in psp) to skew it etc.

Swampy yep that is one cute face which stands out with your interpretaion cool background as well ,

Gary nice version quite serene

Thanks everyone great results

Thank you Palms. However, there was very little selection to it. And the only things officially selected were the whiskers at the top of the photo because they were a mess. They were selected from the blue channel.

Palms,
I agree with your original assessment, nothing I try turns seems right, although the original picture is so nice.... Finally I realized.... the cat is upside down. To be comfortable viewing my renderings I would have to stay on my head.

Outlined watercolor

Attached is a low quality crop. Here is the full high quality rendering. I used Xero's Mistifier filter twice and set the layer property to Grain Extract to create the ouline. I did an Autolevel and then ran my vector simplication technique. Added the canvas later.

Thanks
I had no time to work on it any more yesterday, but maybe today.
I simply have too many open projects *sigh*

Like your version very much too Drach.

I don't comment on other's work as often as I should. Your Artrage interpretations are excellent. I've played with this gem some in the past, but I can't take full advantage of it right now (no tablet yet; maybe Christmas?).
