Painter IX with Dens funky chunky brush,Dens lucious oils changing the size of brush as i go...a little smudging to tidy up...equalize...Photoshop CS2 sharpen, levels to pop the color a bit...cropped it a little too and framed with an action... | Pavel...nice in oils , I did the one above in painter and was surprised that i got so much detail in...You got the colors spot on too...although its been a grey day today, misty and Autumnal....Winters fine with the snow...but its just too long!!! 3 months would be enough! Still dont want to move though! Patricia.... |

I really liked the compositional potential in the source photo I used for this interpretation.

Re: Near to home.... Hiya Pat, I love where you live! ahwell maybe when I retire...lol I see you're getting a bit handy with Painter, very nice...in fact some nice pics on here by all. Mine, I'm afraid is only one of my experiments again, I brightend up the colours a little in PS then opened in Painter, just cloned the outline, then tried to freehand the rest, picking up colours from the original and tweeking them a bit. Then back into PS for Trimoons cottoncanvas texture and a levels layer on overly and a curves layer on multiply, done. It looks better as a bigger file but you'l have to take my word for that. John

Re: Near to home.... Hi John, Nice one...I think you are doing great in Painter....I do love where we live but i still yearn for Yorkshire sometimes!!! The photo you chose is just around the corner going by boat and a 10minute walk on foot...I am enjoying painting scenery and it gets me away from the flowers ( only momentarily though) Happy painting.... Patricia....

Re: Near to home.... Started as an excise with channel mixer. Smart blur to simplify the image. P.S. 100K compression did additional blurring... Last edited by pavel123; 09-27-2006 at 06:20 PM.
