Cracked oil.

Just playing; can't remember all the steps, but I've outlined a lot of the techniques I used already. I used Flaming Pear's Mr. Contrast to start out with. Used GIMP's bumpmapping and used my three layer canvas technique before porting the result in CS2. Used Eye Candy's Glass filter with adjusted opacity which interacted with the image in a way to give the crackled effect. Selective erasing to allow some of the canvas to come through. Added some Plastic wrap and did some addtional sharpening.

The full high quality hi res rendering is here. Attached is a very low quality crop.

Re: Old Town,Stockholm.

Palms...Like the painted look you gave it, using the AHB....1out of 20 aint bad, its when your not happy with any ...thats bad!

I have done this one using Lucis Art, scuplture, then neat image to take away the noise that Lucis sometimes leaves on the picture...I like the look it gives to scenic shots...

Alex...

Your welcome to the photos...its feels good to share...Stockholm is a beautiful city, what i like about it is you are never far away from the water and the Old Town is my favorite part...

Love all three that you have done but the first one i like best....Did you manipulate it or paint it?

Patricia....

Re: Old Town,Stockholm.

Thank you Patricia, it’s a pleasure to live near the water.
I try to do my works taking the shortest way, except AHB,of course , so the first one - just Cutout with different blending, the second-Impressionist plug-in, and the third - Smart Blur.
I like the spirit of your work.

Re: Old Town,Stockholm.

Hi Patricia, thanks for posting your pictures, they bring back some welcome memories.

Only thing different is last time I was in Stockholm it was the Summer of 1976 (the really long hot one), and there wasn't a cloud in the sky.

Oh, and there are no Ladybirds. That year there was a plague of ladybirds in the Baltic, the whole front of the accomodation block on my ship was covered with them, and the same applied whenever we sat outside to eat and drink.

Re: Old Town,Stockholm.

Steve...I like this...all the buildings look really clean...if only it were so easy in real life...
Winters are really cold can get as cold as -27 if we are really unlucky....i am a big softie and shiver when its around freezing...its very damp then...BUT...when it starts getting past -8 its a dry cold and i can cope with that better than the damp!

Glad the photos brought back some happy memories for you....they were taken early spring and it was still quite cold...

Havent had a plague of Ladybirds since i lived here ...but we do get mosquitos...being near the water...I hate them!

Love looking at friends and family photos...you are then "back in the day"....

Palms....

The Palace.

But what are all those people lined up in front of those cannons for? Or is there more here than meets the eye?

Pointillism.

A few months ago, I submitted some renderings that I touted as Pointillism, and rightfully so, they were critisized as not so (Impressionistic yes; Pointillistic no). I believe this one to be Pointillistic; hope you all agree too. Attached is a low quality crop of the complete rendering that you can find here.
