Re: Creative interpretations: Here Comes the Bride (Jesswed)

This is an interesting image.

But what is the true story? Is that really the bride at a wedding? Is the boy her son? Is she just a bridesmaid with her son who was in the wedding?

Anyone know?

Anyway, cute picture, especially of the boy barefooted. (Barefoot?).

Re: Creative interpretations: Here Comes the Bride (Jesswed)

Well Steve my take on it is

1. It is a bride and her son ( only a mom would risk her dress with a toddler)

2. the photo was took after the wedding , which is why the little boy is barefoot, he had to wear new proper shoes and his feet were killing him so off came the shoes, and i bet if there was a front shot there would be no tie or cravat either

Your right interesting image !

I agree that it's probably the mom.

Here's my take on it -- a healthy dose of impressionist.

I assumed it's mother and son, too -- probably on a bathroom run.

Here's my take. I, too, used Impressionist (great minds, huh, Jeff? ) and Selective Color adjustment layers to tweak the colors.

OK...that's sounds like a good scenario.

But back when ours were toddlers, my wife would have given me a soulful look and asked ME to please take them for a walk to avoid soiling the dress. In a good natured way of course.

Re: Creative interpretations: Here Comes the Bride (Jesswed)

I was thinking about a name. What comes to mind is something pompous like "Roads we chose" or "From here to eternity". "I think dear we are lost" is, of course, another option...

palms, i like that. only the elements necessary to tell the story. very nice.

and pavel, what an interesting transformation of the background. it keeps the same story but enhances it a bit. clever.

Had to take a try on this nice image. A watercolor using PaintEngine.

Here's a watercolor wash done in Painter. Intriguing Photo - love the contrasts - white and black; small and tall; formal and informal etc..
