Re: Creative interpretations: old port

Beautiful paintings, everybody! I wanted to give this one a try as a watercolor, too.

Re: Creative interpretations: old port

Thank you for the lovely photo Pavel..Like all three of your renditions but number 1 is my fave...I like the dark intensity of it!

Palms...yours has a nice painted look to it..

Dan...Lovely impressionist painting...great colors..

Steve...two good ones from you...like the old look on the second!

Stosh...lovely bright colors and i also like your framing!!!

Cat...Yours is beautiful...I do like watercolor...

Mine is just a quickie, i did with filters in Photoshop CS2..the last one being Flaming Pears Aetherize just to change the lovely color scheme...framed with an action...

Patricia..

Re: Creative interpretations: old port

Thought about doing that, but imagined I would have a few angry Retouch Pro'ers at my throat when they found out they were working on a manipulation of a recent photo. :

Thanks for your nice comments.

Steve

Stosh, very good crop. Eliminated extra info on the right side shifting focus to the ship.

I've been away for a long time... mostly working on my traditional art, and work, parenting, school...

A quick throw-in...
Lens Correction above an Impressionist scratchy ink layer.

Re: Creative interpretations: old port

I played with this one a long time probably far longer than I needed to. I used Diffuse:Anisotropic filter then Add Noise, Chalk&Charcoal and Paint Daubs. I then cut the picture apart and added Color Variations to each section and a different blend mode also. To the sky I added 1 blue and 3 red to the building and ship 2 red and to the water 2 blue. After reassembly I made some small adjustment to Levels, probably could have just increased saturation and gotten the same effect.

Re: Creative interpretations: old port

I very rarely use Photoshops Bas Relief filter it just almost never adds any thing good to an image but here are two I think came out well. What have others experience with Bas Relief been?
