| | | TM Artistic Endeavors Tutorial This is a new tutorial based on a rendering I do of Robert Mitchum a couple of weeks ago. I posted a PDF file on my blog, this is just temporary until I find a better home for it. The name of the tutorial is TM Artistic Endeavors Tomorrow I will be posting a HTML version and later in the week there will be a video available I hope, I've already made the video, just having trouble finding a place to host it. I did a limited release earlier today of the video as a test and it crashed my server.

Thank you so much for sharing your methods and techniques . Not sure I will be able to repeat, but I will definitely give it a try.
You posted a rendition "homeless men" at dpreview a week or so ago, chalk and charcoal imitation with brief description of your workflow and a note that tutorial would be forthcoming. Is that the tutorial you were referring to?
Thank you again.

| | | Re: TM Artistic Endeavors Tutorial Thanks for the tutorial!
I have a question... At the step 13, you said that must apply the impressionist on layer four but at the impressionist>charcoal (image capture), layer three appears!
Am I in the wrong direction?
Best wishes,

The image that you see in the preview is not important. However, I can see where that would confuse. So I've fixed it. In the image I was basically trying to convey the settings and the overall feel for the Impressionist control panel.
Thank you all and I hope you enjoy.

| | | Re: TM Artistic Endeavors Tutorial Hi Steve,
Thank you so much for sharing this tutorial with us!
I've been trying to reproduce your effect but I'm having a problem at Step 16. If I erase the background of layer 5, all I get is white, since the layer right under that one is pure white. I'm not getting any charcoal at all.
Any suggestion where I'm going wrong?
Thanks again,
Sylvia |

In step 16. It says to adjust the opacity down to 30% did you do this?

| | | Thank you all I'm glad everyone's enjoying. I was supposed to have the video ready today, but my neighbors are building a house, they cut my Internet access yesterday. I just got back. I was having some terrible withdrawal.
Danny
I like your version, very well done.
I'd like to see some different images. Using this technique. Today I did a still life, and I think it came out pretty good.

| | | Re: TM Artistic Endeavors Tutorial Oops, Steve, I was on background eraser rather than on eraser, that's why it wasn't working properly. I did your tutorial though and adapted it a bit.
Thanks again, Steve.
